The journey began with one resource...
The desire to share what I was learning about how kids learned to read and write developed with each new facet of my career. I wanted to share with others. I mean… we’re all in this together! After spending a decade as a classroom teacher across two states, I put my first resource out into the digital world in 2008. It was a Book Bingo that I used in my school library during my new role as a school library media specialist. What a joy to share my love of books and literacy with so many students! Definitely a reading teacher’s dream.

From there, things really took off. I developed my bestseller, the "Teacher Work-Life Planner," that I personally used when organizing all of my lessons and life events. (I still use it to plan for my reading therapy groups and my many daily happenings, even today!)
During my time as a literacy champion and resource creator, I wanted my students to love reading as much as I did! Sadly, I came to a difficult realization.
Struggling readers choose to read less and less. They lose their love of books more with each passing year.
I wanted to help unlock the real problem for my struggling readers. I wanted to help them appreciate the gift of reading. I made the decision to pivot and begin my journey as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). Currently, I continue to provide intervention therapy to students struggling with dyslexia and other reading challenges. Using a multisentory and very systematic approach, I help them form new pathways in the brain, unlocking the code of language and reading. I love how my career has come full circle... all for the love of kids and literacy! ️
Inspired Apple is Born
Now, Inspired Apple works hard to provide academic language therapy to students with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, and to create resources that support student and educator learning. Whether it’s for literacy resources, intervention support, and even teacher planning or organization, we are dedicated to that mission.
